Some of the best food on Kauai. We traveled all over and this may have been my favorite meal! Chicken focaccia sandwich! Friendly staff and cute atmosphere. Only review I’ve left this trip! Delicious!!!

Hands down our best meal in Kapaa. The staff is incredibly accommodating and made special “off the menu” meals for our three picky kids (giant bowls of beans and rice and chicken tacos). I had the cilantro pesto wrap with ono and it was perfect. Very reasonably priced - if we’d known about Mermaids earlier we would have eaten there every day.

My family and I had such a great lunch here on our first day on Kauai. Highly recommend the poke bowl and ahi wrap. Both items were really, really good.

Amazingly delicious food cooked up by just the nicest guy!! Definitely a new favorite spot for us!! We ordered the tropical tacos in both shrimp and Ahi. The Ahi was caught earlier that day and seard to perfection! The shrimp tacos had large pieces of shrimp that were seasoned and still juicy after cooked. The tacos came topped with homemade mango salsa that was to die for, two different sauces, and some nice cabbage on the bottom. A generous side of black beans and some leafy greens rounded out the meal with some wonderful Hibiscus lemonade to wash it all down. We will definitely be going back to buy some jarred mango salsa and order some more tasty food!!

Mike at the Mermaid Cafe is phenomenal... he was working all by himself as four different groups of two walked up. Mike didn't short-cut a thing and was super pleasant to everyone even though I suspect he was stressed. The wait wasn't long at all considering he was single-handed. My husband ordered the Ahi wrap with brown rice... Mike left the wasabi ayoli off as my husband can't do spicy. I had an AMAZING poke bowl WITH the delicious wasabi ayoli. The "bowl" was really a large dinner plate that was big enough to share. The poke was fresh, delicious, with lots of fish expertly cut into precise cubes... a sign of a great chef! Next time we are in Kauai... we'll be back to find Mike.

My favorite meal when visiting Kauai! Incredible vegan options. The tofu satay plate was delicious and nutritious. Appreciated the clean cooking. Nice chill atmosphere as well.

Loved this find! The menu items were easily made vegan and the staff was super helpful navigating my food intolerance on top of that. We had the fajitas (sans aloha sauce as it’s made with mayo) and peanut satay, both with tofu and they were both amazing. Would totally go back! They said their pesto is also vegan.

We had the vegetable stir fry with tofu. Veggies were fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned! Light, not too heavy on the sauce/salt, which was exactly what we were looking for. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected for the amount we paid. Workers were warm and friendly!
